Pinterest Faves and Saves - Helpful Hints

This month's Pinterest Faves and Saves is unique because it's solely dedicated to the work of one design firm...The W Design Collective. In fact, every pin in this month's post is from just one of their many breathtaking projects; Dutch Fields. I love it so much that I knew I had to share it with you, as well as discuss why these pins and their work stood out to me on Pinterest. They're aesthetic is like Studio McGee meets GP Schafer...clean and bright but full of soul. Each image is full of helpful hints for me personally, and I can't wait to get into those details with you. So let's get right to it.

1. Vertical Shiplap Barn Door | There are a few key places in our home that need barn doors. I'd love pocket doors, but they aren't in the budget, so I'm planning to build barn doors. I've never found any inspiration photos I liked as much as this one though. The things I love most are the hardware that's painted the same color as the door, the fact that there's no frame or border on the door, and that there's no support board mounted to the wall for the track. It's clean and classic and I'm in love. If you've been here for very long, you know I love using vertical shiplap...it fits the style of our house and is easy for me to DIY. I even wrote a whole post about The What, Why, and Where of Vertical Shiplap because I've used it in so many places. Now that I've seen this vertical shiplap barn door, I know I have one more place I'll use it. Pinterest Save Helpful Hint: Vertical shiplap barn door with painted hardware and track. vertical shiplap barn door on white wall2. Vintage Items and Subtle Color | I've been revisiting and studying this image since I first laid eyes on it a few months ago. I can't get over the beautiful, muted colors and the peaceful feeling this image evokes. It's very inspiring to see so many beautiful layers created out of such simplicity. Of course, I also love the use of vintage items. Bold Contrast Trim | When I saw this image, I got so excited because of the use of bold contrast trim. I've been wanting to incorporate this into our office/homeschool space, but wasn't completely sure it would work to go so dark on the trim. I used contrast trim in Hannah's Bedroom Makeover, but I'm tempted to go even darker. Knowing me, I probably would have experimented with it even if I wasn't sure, but seeing this visual just gives me that much more confidence to go for it. And that contrasting peg rail! Pinterest Save Helpful Hint: Go bold with contrast paint color. The visual impact is worth it!white bedroom with black contrast trim4. Pleated Shade and Simple Layers | You know I had to include this image. I mean, a pleated fabric shade, vertical shiplap, black furniture, and patterned upholstered ottoman...what's not to love? Again, this evokes a peaceful feeling that's still full of interesting details and loads of character. You can add charm to any space with a DIY Pleated Fabric Lampshade. No shade in my house is safe from this cute little hack. Pinterest Save Helpful Hint: Add a cute, patterned, pleated shade wherever you can for a touch of non-committal character. white bedroom with black bed and pleated shade5. Unique Furniture With Character | One of my favorite things in a home is the use of furniture that is unique to the people living there; something you can't just go out and purchase retail. These gorgeous chairs with rush seats and patterned upholstered cushions are just that...unique. Details like this really inspire me to keep refining and looking for ways to put my family's signature on our home. Pinterest Save Helpful Hint: Personalize your pieces with unique upholstery, and tell your family's story through furniture. living room with upholstered chairs and built ins6. Walnut Arched Mirror Medicine Cabinet | When I ordered the walnut arched mirrors for the girls' Storybook Bathroom Refresh, I thought about how cool it would be to turn them into medicine cabinets. Now I have a visual for how I would build it. Also, every single detail in this space...just perfection.Pinterest Save Helpful Hint: Think outside the box with a uniquely shaped medicine cabinet, and don't be afraid to incorporate dark wood tones. bathroom with arched mirror and tongue and groove wainscotingWell, that's another Pinterest Faves and Saves in the books, and I have to say, I really loved this one. It was fun looking at pins from one source and evaluating why I loved them so much, as well as the helpful hints they provided. I usually share a variety of pins that caught my eye, so I'm curious if you liked this  format or not.  I'd love to hear which image is your favorite from this post and why in the comments below. I also have to encourage you to go check out (and get lost in) The W Design Collective's work because these pictures are just the tip of the iceberg of their portfolio. Don't forget to follow me over on Pinterest for more inspiration, DIYs, and more! signatureYou might also be interested in:https://wildflowerhomeinteriors.com/how-to-install-pre-primed-vertical-shiplap/https://wildflowerhomeinteriors.com/most-requested-paint-colors-in-my-home/
