Pinterest Faves and Saves - June Edition
In the Pinterest Faves and Saves - June Edition, I'm discussing spaces with soul and solutions to some design dilemmas in my own home.
Pinterest Faves
This month's faves are spaces filled with the type of layering and depth I desire in my own home. My faves are pins that give me a certain feeling, visually stop me while scrolling, and/or confirm a design decision I made or will make.
- This first fave is the entryway of a fully restored 1905 Craftsman home just up the road from me in Los Angeles. It's different, full of character, has unique features like those gorgeous diamond grid windows, and incorporates a trendy hanging plant in such a timeless way. I just love the feel of this space so much.
- My next fave is the living room of one of my favorite designers. As you already may know, I love vertical shiplap, chunky floating shelves, and the pairing of antique wood pieces with more modern furnishings. This is one of those images that confirms what my style leans toward, and that I do in fact, love my style.
- This next pin not only confirms my love of green paint, and gives me a good idea of the direction I want to go with an upcoming project, but it also reinforces my love of oversized foliage in photo shoots. I keep trying to go big, but I always end up pairing back at the last minute. When I see images like this, I'm reminded that if I think an arrangement is big enough, it can probably stand to be bigger.
- The Wild Decoelis' laundry room makeover gives me a visual for how my house would look with taupe contrasting trim against my white walls. I began painting all the interior doors in my home black, but after completing Hannah's bedroom makeover, I now want to change the doors to Accessible Beige, along with the trim. I love high contrast, but there's something so interesting about this reverse, low contrast look.
Pinterest Saves
The pins I categorize as saves are those that spark doable ideas, provide solutions to my own design dilemmas, and encourage me to stretch the boundaries of my creativity.
- I've had this master bedroom vignette saved for years, and it's not hard to see why. The lines of the bedside table and mirror are beautiful, and the dark black color against the textural grasscloth wall is to die for. Also, just look at that casual pin stripe bed skirt looking totally at home with so many formal details. I'm determined to achieve this feel in my own master bedroom.
- This save is my favorite for the June Edition of Pinterest Faves and Saves. Noelle's room makeover is happening in the next eight weeks and this is exactly the happy, bright, and colorful feeling she wants. I love how unique everything is in this space, just like in Hannah's room, and of course the use of blue and yellow has my heart. I can't wait to complete Noelle's fun room!
- The reason I saved this pin is because very soon, I will be working on an upstairs cabinet that sits right beside the girls' bathroom, and I have had the idea of using cane for awhile now. Out of all the cane doors I've seen floating around out there, I like the style of these the best. And I love that they have traditional cane instead of the more modern version. Love that blue too!
- My last save for the June Edition is this amazing coastal space with a desk as a bedside table. Jeff and I recently made a final decision on what used to be our combined office upstairs, and that means I no longer have a desk. So, I purchased a beautiful vintage desk off Facebook Marketplace, and I'm going to use it beside my bed. I've struggled with the aesthetics of this arrangement, but after seeing this image, I know it will be so good...and functional.
